Well, even though August, the hottest month of the summer, is here, there is also no denying the fact that summer is also on its last legs. I was going to take Susanne, a coworker from my new job, to pick blueberries this morning. In fact, in order to go, the near impossible happened: I awoke at 8am on a Saturday. Unfortunately, when I made my ( Read more... )

I'm sorry your original plans were derailed, but you appear to have picked yourself up with aplomb!

y'know. the other day the sky was a clear blue - the kind that happens in autumn in florida. and i was laying on the bed, watching a tree outside the window swaying in the breeze and i thought to myself "wow, it's almost fall!"

of course when i told bryan this he scoffed. my poor ohio-boy doesn't think fall happens in florida until somewhere around december.

i don't know if i told you or posted about it. but grayson and i have planted a butterfly garden. we bought a tiny pink-purple crape myrtle. when i saw it, i thought of you. and when i planted it, i thought of you. so now grayson knows vaguely of someone named jen who writes beautifully and is a talented artist. i keep meaning to show him your website.

How's your crape myrtle doing? :)

Thank you for all your kind words. Gal, you rock. I know I've been a crappy online friend of late, but I really appreciate you and your all of your wonderful comments.

Sometimes it feels like tapping a microphone in an empty room, "Hello, anyone there? Is this thing on?" And you're one of the few people that makes a point to keep in touch. For that, I thank you.

the crape myrtle is all of six inches tall. but that's at least two taller than it was when we bought it. it has gorgeous purple-pink flowers and i just love it. (:

i know how you feel about the empty room. i feel like that a lot these days - and not just on livejournal. i try to comment frequently, but i feel as though i don't give people the attention they deserve. it's like somehow my anti-social insecurities managed to follow me to the internet. heh.
