Sorry for having to bring this shit to your personal journal, but would you mind editing that entry you posted so that all of the new comments that are made get screened by default? I honestly don't get why people are so up-in-arms about it, but it's insane. I'm too hormonal right now to deal with this crap politely anymore, and if there's one more negative comment posted on it (ESPECIALLY by a non-member), I may have to start cracking skulls.

Thank you so much for your patience with the people who felt it necessary to attack you about it. I don't know if I could have done it!

I had a CD player in my car that played mp3 files off CDs, so I was gathering mp3s to burn onto CDs, and decided to get some recent episodes of NPR's Car Talk. MP3's available via audible.com, they said, so I bought some episodes. Turns out they *weren't* actually mp3 files - they were encrypted files that you could play in iTunes. My car's CD player had no idea what to do with them. Later, when I got home, I was able to get mp3's from those files by playing them from iTunes on my computer while running some software that records whatever audio is playing, but I didn't get to listen to them on that road trip because I hadn't had time to figure that out and play those files before I left. That's why have never bought anything from audible.com ever since ( ... )
