Running Like A Wild Thing

Okay, so technically, Rina would probably get into a lot of trouble if she was caught sneaking out of the X-Mansion. Well, more than just a lot of trouble. But she couldn't help it. It was in her genes. No, really. Her father had set a precedent for it. He'd always been running away from the mansion too ( Read more... )

There was blood in the air tonight.

Hudson closed his eyes, drawing a deep breath in through his nose, mentally sorting through all the other smells vying for attention, focusing on the heavy, coppery smell of blood and sweat.

Guy was scared. Good. That was just the way he wanted the bastard.

Nobody shot at Hudson and got away with it. And nobody worked for people who shot at Hudson and got away with it either.

Then another irritatingly familiar scent tickled at his nose, making him growl as his eyes shot open.

Rina.

Two scents hit her at once. One, the metallic tinge of blood that attack her nostrils.

The second?

Hudson.

Her brother.

Well. This was gonna happen sooner or later, she mused as she stopped in her tracks and changed direction.

Was she running away?

Heck no.

She was heading towards the scent.

Hudson turned away from the scent of his half-sister, following the trail of blood and fear instead. He had better things to do than smack the brat around.

Besides, he was an Avenger now. Standing irritating pains in the ass on mountain tops wasn't something Avengers did. He'd even asked Stinger about that (the face she's made had been worth it).

He was easier to find than she'd thought he'd be.

And he wasn't following after her.

That was good, right?

Here's hoping the scent of blood and fear in the night isn't something he's causing on purpose. I'd hate to have to go all stabbity in his head with my claws. She mused over that for a moment. No, seriously.

Once she had him in her line of sight, she clung to the shadows, using tips that her mother had taught her, and followed Hudson.

Just to see what he was up to.

For now.
