Now that he'd left Avengers Mansion, Reilly was feeling like kind of a jerk. Sneaking in just to get an audience? Probably not the best move of his career. He really couldn't blame them for freaking out. Now where he was going to get someone to mentor Aftershock?

The room smelled like the lawyer (rotten eggs), and like books and ink and paper and old take out eaten because that was what was there. He might have attributed the Rotten Egg smell to something IN the room, but it clung to hard to the lawyer to be anything but his own scent.

Normal people didn't smell like that, but Hudson was willing to let it go for now.

The lawyer didn't seem to notice that he was in the room, so he cleared his throat.

Reilly's head whipped around and he jumped.

"What the hell?!" He shouted, fighting the urge to throw a punch. "Breaking into my office might be fair play after what I did, fine, but I don't think it's exactly heroic behavior."

"Your secretary let me in," Hudson said. "I told her I wanted to talk to you about the kid you want rehabilitated or whatever."

"What? Why didn't she tell me?!" She was always good about talking to him (uh, because she had a bit of crush on him, not that Reilly knew that).

Reilly sighed. As much as he wanted to, he probably shouldn't hurl Saberclaw out of his office. "... You're not exactly what I had in mind for my client."
