May entered the class room, more engrossed in checking over her homework than anything else that might have been going on. She settled into her usual chair near-ish the back, spreading her text book out and still going over her homework. She knew that if she didn't have this absolutely perfect, her parents would start hinting that she should cut back on being Spider-Girl and focus more on school.

She didn't even notice the new boy in the back.

Jake noticed the girl that sat down only a few chairs away from him. He mostly noticed her, because she was the first kid that hadn't stared at him. Sure it was because she had her nose in a book, but still, good sign.

May felt a tingling on the back of her neck -- not the Spider-Sense tingling, but that 'Someone's watching me' kind of way. She raised her head, looking around and saw Jake Grimm in the back. She raised her hand in a little 'Hi' kind of wave and returned to her homework.

She wanted to go over and talk to him, but that might be kind of awkward. Sure, she knew Jake... as Spider-Girl. May Parker was a complete stranger to him.

Jake wanted to wave back at her, but she'd already turned away before he had a chance to do so. The teacher entered the room and started about a play the class had been working on. Something by Shakespeare. Jake knew he was out of his depth.
