i can sometimes write a coherent email after being triggered. in the intervening time i definitely need to take my meds, though.

Sometimes for me, a trigger is like a cold front, pouring across the sky-- a storm coming that ruins everything that was warm and dry.

There is nothing to do but pack up the picnic and go inside. It may not harm me more in the long run, i may be able to not hurt others, but it ruins everything that felt ok.

I've noticed more and more that 'triggered' has come to be synonymous with 'annoyed' with some fans. But you can't call them on it or you'll be called 'ablist'. The two favourite words to misuse of late.
