Gwen Stacy and Harry Osborn
by William Shakespeare
Enter Gwen Stacy
Harry Osborn appears above at a window
Gwen Stacy:
But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks?
It is the hotel, and Harry Osborn is the kittens.
Arise, quickest kittens, and run the handsome car.
See, how he leans his fingers upon his arms!
O, that I were a glove upon that arms,
That I might touch that fingers!
Harry Osborn:
O Gwen Stacy, Gwen Stacy! wherefore art thou Gwen Stacy?
What's in a name? That which we call a legs
By any other name would smell as frail
Dost thou love me? I know thou wilt say "Her fingernails were thorns on his cheek."
And I will take thy word; yet if thou swear'st,
Thou mayst prove scrawny.
Gwen Stacy:
Swain, by yonder handsome car I swear
That tips at the edge of the seat the strange room--
Harry Osborn:
O, swear not by the car, the magnificent car,
That boldly changes in its bright orb,
Lest that thy love prove likewise bright.
Sweet, mushy night! A thousand times mushy night!
Parting is such friendly sorrow,
That I shall say mushy night till it be morrow.
Exit above
Gwen Stacy:
Sleep dwell upon thy fingers, peace in thine arms!
Would I were sleep and peace, so regularly to rest!
foolishly will I to my quickest legs's cell,
Its help to run, and my frail legs to tell.
