I think it's fine. If the director sees you leave, he should take offense because they didn't do a good enough job to keep you interested. Your opportunity costs definitely proved to be higher than sticking around for a story we all know.

I wouldn't think you were a bad person. :-) And I'm an English major. Shakespeare's like Papa English.
