Psych 111

I'm Psychology 111 this semester. That means, as a requirement, I have to be some researchers' experimental guinea pig for at least five hours by December.

So, the sign-ups opened up yesterday... and I was logged onto the computer as soon as they did. I'm going to be in a one-hour study on the 27th. I can't wait!

Yeah... Most of them are just surveys, but some might see how quickly we can do puzzles or what kinds of brainwaves we emit during sleep. Last year I knew someone who was taking a survey for his test, and this guy kept walking by and bumping into him during it while he was bubbling in answers. After the guy bumped into him three times, he said "Asshole!" at my friend and walked away. Apparently, that guy was part of the experiment; the researchers were throwing the surveys away and just seeing how people reacted to the irritating guy who called them assholes.

(They discovered people from the south are more prone to get up and attack the man. People from the north ignore him, or quietly insult him back)

Yeah, it's funny to read that because seeing as how I am in the psych field, I picked up right away that the guy must've been a confederate of the study (as in, he was in it.. not that he was from the South lol). Stuff like that is so cool, seeing how people will react and all kinds of fun things you learn about humans! So much cooler than rat experiments...
