A large portion of gay voters are simply not concerned with the outcome of this vote. They just simply are not. While we would like to think that all of us (gay people) are concerned about this "right" we are looking to be given, it is simply not the case. It is not the case. This isn't an explanation, necessarily, but being a gay person immersed in the gay culture, and understanding the behaviours of gay people, I wouldn't be at all surprised if many were just simply not interested. Either from apathy, or from the misguided belief that it's impossible to pass such an initiative in California.

I was convinced from day one that it would pass. And it has.
