"You can't rape a person you've never met."
- Prof. of my Crim Pro Class.

I'm speechless, just speechless.

One of the Oklahoma senators once said that you cant rape your wife, because if youre in a marraige, you are expected to give it up....or something to that effect.

That wasn't just a senator; that was the LAW for a long time, believe it or not. Fortunately, we've done away with abominations like that.

Well technically, if you try to rape them you've met them I guess... If the definition of "meeting" is "I saw you."

The first wisecrack that came to mind was, "It's always better with a friend"?

But that's just not funny. Bad me.

Hefftronic, I've had similar moments of shock and disbelief at my law school. My favorite was while we were discussing fraud, one girl piped up and said, "Are there really criminals smart enough to do this? I mean, I'm having trouble understanding it, and I'm a law student."

You could literally see the professor rooting around in his soul, trying to find a civil response.

He didn't have one.
