So one of the processes that I went through during my legal education was the stripping down and rebuilding of my writing style as a tight, logically structured machine. While this is incredibly beneficial in a legal context, it makes me the most boring fiction writer ever to grace this planet. This becomes a problem when I try to do game stuff

Get the story to "play out" in your head and then you can transcribe easier. It will still fit with your more structured recent writing, but will tend to be more descriptive and exciting, if you are at least describing what's going on if it were a movie playing in your head, instead of just words on a page.
