Yar, I remembered that from your sequential smarts column ^-^ The places I talked to in baltimore actually only took 40% on consignment. Unfortunately they didn't get back to me, and I started checking them out rather late in the game and never bothered them about it because I was busy (perhaps I shall do so now!)
But cash upfront is nice, and 50/50 is perfectly reasonable for that, just wish I could get the printing cost down :P *vaguely tempted to try Lulu, but is attracted to the small community thing currently going on*

Hahaha, if by "published" you mean "self printed", then yeah ^-^

My next signing is never. I'm much to special and sensitive to mingle with the crude masses ;D

Good move, jumping on the local comics store. They can be your best friends and strongest supporters, especially if your product develops an audience.

Have you done SPX? I think you'd do well at SPX.

I checked out SPX last year, looked kind of cool, though I didnt' have a book at the time! I'm going to see if I can't do it this year... I'm a bit dubious what with grad school and all. Have to wait till I know who I'm doing rotations with...

Well, books help a lot. ;-)

I've found that having some mini-comics, alongside a full-size book, is a really good combination. This is true at any show, but SPX is like mini-comics Elysium.

As someone about to start another graduate degree, grad school probably takes precedent.
