Okay, so normally I might be annoyed at suddenly noticing LJ's main page has adds on it, but the add in question is for the movie "Blood and chocolate"! Not a bad werewolf book... didn't exactly make it onto a favorite list, but that's more because of personal preferences with werewolves than because of any huge flaw in the story. From the makers ( Read more... )

*dies in your spelling holocaust*

Hrm, I haven't checked out the Blood and Chocolate LJ community :P Boo hiss angst! Just wondering whether I want to bother seeing the movie...

Duke Otterland is something of a serial adder (that's how I ended up knowing about him at all), but at least he actually used his journal as a journal... last I checked being a serial adder doesn't get your LJ suspended, cuz there's like three more more blatent ones that are sitting pretty on my "Friend of" list XP

Christians are so persecuted. Just look like two thousand years ago! Greece totally persecuted those christians.

Persecution for all!

Mishka declared jihad the last time the vet tried to take her temperature. Some cats tolerate it; some need two techs to hold them down.

Ach, jihad! Well Lucy seems to be settling in to her eye gunk routein at least; she doesn't struggle or complain at all now. And here eye's getting better :) I can't say I blame her or Miska for not liking the temperature taking, though.

... oh yeah, I'm kind of stealing your cat's name XD "Minnie" doesn't seem at all suitable for the other cat, considering she's very cat-like; stealthy, lithe, and loves to hunt down moving objects. I keep calling her "Miska" instead. Sounds more fierce :D

There's a Russian version of the name that means "bear," and, according to ye olde Polish grandma, a Polish version that means "mouse." Mish is normally the latter, but the thermometer anal rape kind of caused her to go ballistic.

And, steal away. When my parents took Salem to the vet for the first time, they discovered that there were at least four others (probably all black cats, as well) using that small country office.

... and I realized I misspelled your cat's name, should have been "I don't blame her or Mishka for not liking...". Sorry!

I read some blip on the IMDB entry for the movie that said it didn't really follow the book since the book wasn't Hollywood enough. That's just one opinion though. I don't remember enough of the book right now, but I do remember thinking it (and Silver Kiss, by the same author) were interesting.

It certainly has garnered some negative ratings on rottentomatoes.com :P I think I'll give it a miss.

However, I didn't know about Silver Kiss! I'll check it out :)

Trying to give the bunnies medicine is always an adventure; I can't imagine what would happen if we tried to take their temperature!
