I'm not really sure if you want a response from me or not... and I'm not even sure if you're soliciting advice. But I feel compelled to answer, anyway. :)
Sexuality is fluid; it sometimes changes, and nobody I know of is too straight or too gay to appreciate somebody who is not their perferred gender. And if you want something, you should try it. I've found that it's better to feel awkward or dumb for a few minutes than it is to regret something you never did. Speaking as somebody who often lets her anxiety get in the way of meeting new people or having new experiences, happiness is worth many sacrifices. I hope everything works out for you.
