Another old friend passed away this evening. I visited him in the ICU six hours earlier. He had had a heart attack a little over two weeks ago, was seeming to be on a cautious road to recovery, but suffered another yesterday. Fentanyl isn't usually a drug they give to folk expected to survive

I wouldn't have referred to Ian as a friend; I didn't interact with him that frequently - I saw him maybe once a year or less. However, he was close with a number of my friends, and they are all in mourning now.

If you judge a man by the company he keeps, then he was pretty damn fine man. I am sorry for all of your loss.
