Okay, I don't know what you're talking about, and if I did, I may not even have agreed with it (but then again, I may have done), but...

...kudos for posting. Get stuff off your chest and, as you've decided, don't let anyone make you edit or take it down.

And I'm glad you're still in the hobby. I've never played in one of your games, or alongside you (weird, how I just typed that without even thinking about the many times I've done both of those in LARP? I guess I'm just a tabletopper at heart), but I've watched you run a game and LURPS'd be a lesser thing without you.

OK, see, that's pretty much everything I was trying to say, and spectacularly failing at.

Begin Devil's Advocate Mode:

Consider everything that follows to be said without judgement or condemnation, because I am thousands of miles distant, do not know the full situation, and therefore have no right judge or condemn.

Anyway, the thought occurs to me that, ideally, a complaints procedure should not a problem. Fact of the matter is that you are an intimidating guy, until people get to know you. You're not the only one; a lot of the old guard in LURPS have a presence that can make them seem kind of scary, especially to freshers. Someone new to the society might not feel comfortable bringing a complaint to you in person, either because they find you frightening, or they're simply scared of being ostracised themselves.

So people bringing their complaints to the exec seems fine to me, so long as there is an understanding that when you bring a complaint you bring it only to the exec, and until they have had time to hear all sides of the story you damn well keep your mouth shut. You do not spread rumour and slander without ( ... )

An ex-LURPser chiming in with support: I dont know what you said that caused the furore, but it can't be worse than half the stuff we get at LT, not to mention that for the (too long to remember) years I have known you I have always found you to be respectful, enthusiastic and an exemplary LARPer.

There was a reason I played who I did in VIP, it was great RPing with you side by side and I hope to be able to come back to it at some point even for a one-off.

THnak you for your honest post and I also do not believe you should edit or take it down.

Hugs hon
Ju

sir my respect for you and what you have done in the past and continue to do for LURPS (i refrain from calling it our sociaty, i havn't joind yet this year) knows no bounds. and while i sometimes get alittle iritated by the shear quantaty of isues you tend to bring up in AGMs, that is purely down to my hatred of politics.
you sir are an exemplary role-player. you got me into ViP, and from there into Lives. and you do look after your players, extreemly well.

Thank you for posting this. There is a reason the constitution has your name in it.

Yeah, all I really want to say is thank you for actually posting this. It's all too easy to let stuff like this stay behind closed doors, and in my view, that's no help at all.
