I hate change (unless it's something I want to change!). I see Newtown changing all the time and I hate to see the little shops go. Some big supermarket wants to build a supermarket where the bowling club is... a very active bowling club I might add. It's next to the main car park in town and they want to take up half of it... it's already overflowing on market days and during the summer as it is! Also, Tesco want to build a supermarket on the old cattle market, but that would create havoc at the main roundabout in town. I don't even see the need for 1 new supermarket, never mind 2! We already have 2 Co-ops, a Morrisons, a Spar and a Somerfields, along with a Lidl that's just about to open. Newtown is a small town yet these proposed supermarkets and the council seem to think we need more! (Rant over, hehe ( ... )
