Hey, I'm back.. Actually, I got out of the hospital a good two weeks ago, but I kept on forgetting to go on LJ.. Heh.. How's everyone doing? I missed some stuff, but I haven't checked the back pages of LJ yet.. So please, fill me in on your lives

Good to hear you escaped Prison Hospital. What goodies did they stick you on?

After coming home with lovely scars from a PICC line, I'm now taking Levaquin (which isn't so bad, since it's one pill once a day) and Pulmozyme/TOBI (alternating between the two every month)..

I'm waiting for the blue bracelet (from the CFF) to come out since I like the color blue more.. Feel free to roll your eyes at me.. LOL..

They didn't send you home to do your own IVs with the PICC? That sucks.

Why alternating between Pulmozyme and Tobi? Pulmozyme is supposed to be an every day clearance thing - it breaks up the DNA bits (the "gunk") so it's easier to cough up. Tobi's an every other month antibiotic for psuedomonas infection. Are you sure the other med isn't colistimethate (colimycin, colistin)? That's another neb-antibiotic. I don't know if they warned you - but be careful with the Tobi - ringing in the ears is a sign of badness.

Nah.. I don't like doing them at home.. I've heard bad things.. Mostly on how annoying it is to do it on your own..

I'm sure it's Pulmozyme and Tobi.. They would keep me on Pulmozyme all the time, but I'm a brat and have complained about how long it takes to do so many nebs a day..

And yea, I take Tobi (and Tobramycin through IV in the hospital) all the time.. They check my hearing whenever I go in the hospital.. So far, so good..
