weathering the theoretical storm...

My take on the current weather of the news:

Niger's got slavery problems, Pakistan's got clan-related "honorable" rape problems, Iraq's got U.S.-troops-shooting-at-freed-hostages problems (among other, much more obvious problems), and the U.S. has got...Martha Stewart problems?

Yeah, um, okay. What can we learn from this?

I want you to write me a cause and effect essay concerning this issue. And then you can write it in extended definition form, and finally, in narrative form. And make sure you incorporate what you've learned from Everything's An Argument, as well as journal your progress. This process will culminate in a Junior Theme-type thesis paper.

Thank you and I want it all by next Friday.

Obviously, we learn that mass atrocities being committed on a global scale don't mean a thing as long as lemon pie is being baked under house arrest.

It's a good thing.

Hi,

I know this is a bizarre request to be leaving in a stranger's journal, and if this reply is annoying to you please feel free to delete it, and I'll understand completely.

That being said, I've noticed that one of your interests is Sarah Kane. I've just discovered her work and am a big fan. Right now I'm writing my undergraduate thesis on how Sarah Kane defies stereotypes in Cleansed, Blasted, and Phaedra's Love. I'd like to be able to put reader reactions to that specific subject in my paper, and was wondering if you have any thoughts on this.

Thank you so much,
Jenna

No sweat. Right now, I'm actually writing a paper about her plays as well. Feel free to e-mail me at spikedrumpunch@hotmail.com, if you have any specific questions.
