I am such a dork!

Okay. Those who've known me for some time may remember my embarrassing encounter with James Marsters at Moonlight Rising 2003 - I had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed meeting and speaking with Amber Benson, ASH, Adam Busch, James C. Leary and Christopher Golden. Then I got in line to meet JM. As I got closer to the object of my lust ( Read more... )

Yep! An actual call! And it was probably one of many, because by the time he called me, his voice was slightly hoarse, as if he'd been making a LOT of calls. And, of course I was so gobsmacked that all I could say was "Okay". Arrgh! Well, I may have been an idiot, but at least I wasn't a blithering idiot, as there was no blithering - basically, no words at all. But . . . SQUEE!

You actually talked with THE MAN? Our President-Elect? Whoo-hoo! Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

And hey: you're back!!! [passes out from shock, gets up, then has to sit again.] I hope you'll be around again soon.

How have you been?

Well, I can't say I actually talked with him - but HE did talk with me!!! *facepalm* All I managed to say was "Okay". Srsly, how dorky is that?

Yep! I'm back! Keeping my fingers crossed that Jamie's second surgery replacing the clavicle plate that had shifted and snapped after last year's surgery has healed correctly this time, and he went back to work this week, so hoping things go okay for him.

And . . . SQUEEEEEEE! We have a new President! I haven't felt this excited and hopeful about our government since Kennedy beat Nixon! So, YAY! Plus, Elena and I have registered for Writercon (we're order #26!) and I'm keeping both my fingers and toes crossed that I'll be healthy enough next summer to make it there. And, I finished the next chapter of Undercover!!! After all the RL shit over the past year, with my Dad's sudden illness and death, Jay's botched surgery, Jay's addiction to painkillers after the botched surgery, stint in rehab, and second surgery . . . I was afraid I wouldn't ever get to finish that fic! I was ( ... )

Speaking to the new President. Wonderful!

I'm coming and will probably be speechless to meet my flist! Will be looking for large pillar to hide behind. Might make flash cards printed with "OMG" "It's YOU!" and "How do you write like THAT?". That should see me through most of the time there!

You and me both, baybee! Let me know if you find a pillar large enough for both of us to hide behind, and I'll join you there! The flash cards sound like an excellent idea! (Especially, as I seem to go fairly catatonic when I'm impressed! Hee!)

And - YAY for you're going to be there! Can't wait to meet you!

We have a new president!!! SQUEEEEE!

I'm sure under the same cicumstances I would have reacted the same way.

Hee! Glad to know I'm not the only dork around! I'm fairly sure it was actually him, because his voice was slightly hoarse, as if he'd been calling people and talking a lot all day, rather than the smooth speaking voice he usually has, and there was no "gotcha!" if someone was making prank calls - he just spoke briefly about what he hoped to accomplish regarding health care, the war in Iraq, and a third point, which I can't remember because I was so gobsmaked. Elena was really envious, because it was she who actually provided my phone number to be able to be randomly accessed, and so I got the call instead of her. Muahaha!

And YAY!!! We have a new President-elect! Whoo Hoo!

How cool is that! (Though I'd have been just as inarticulate in your place). They showed some footage here of Obama talking to people on the phone - just think, it could have been you. :D

Oh, very cool! It might have been me! With my insightful and erudite response of "Okay". *snerk* But . . . we have a new President!!! One of whom we can actually be proud, so . . . SQUEEEEE!!!

*does happy dance*
