I've been seriously inspired this morning by the lovely shanmara and the list of challenges for July at nekid_spike. I see the Who, What, Where challenge doesn't start until the 22nd. But this is going to be a multi-parter, so maybe I'll be excused for beginning now and ending on the appropriate dates

As always, you paint such a vivid picture. My lungs were heavy like Spike's; I could hear and smell the the jungle around me, and I'm anxious to know why they're in Thailand and who they are.

This was a vivid, gripping beginning. The different scenes in the whorehouse, one bright and loud and anonymous and one quiet and erotic and intimate, were beautifully realized. That slice of Spike's history with Angel spoke of history and connection. It makes me wonder what has happened to cause Angel to leave, but hopeful that Spike will catch his bloody, stupid wanker.

This is an excellent start.

I get so nervous when I start anything that has more than one part. Setting the scene and drawing in the reader is a very tricky business. Plus weaving back and forth from past to present is nerve-wracking, trying not to get ahead of myself, but to make sense at the same time.

The story will be unfolding bit by bit. I'm crossing my fingers that you will like it. Thank you bunches, love, for the encouraging response!!!!

It's strange how the plot bunny just whacked me over the head. I'm trying very hard lately not to stress over my work too much. Just write and throw it out there.

I've been playing with a lot of crazy ideas, but this one stuck and got me moving. :D I'm thrilled you liked it, sweetie. That means a lot to me.
