My server was down all day yesterday, very upsetting. So I had nothing to do but write. Ergo, another chapter of BB. The miles between the boys are narrowing. Will Spike find Angel before someone else does? Someone who wants Angel out of the way. Here, gentle reader, is the next part of the story.

Bloody brilliant. Your groove is right on target in this chapter. I loved the contrasting attitudes of Angel and Spike. I think you've captured them exactly: Angel's determination not to fall in metaphorical and physical terms and the sensuality of Spike.

Speaking of sensuality, I thought this Angel jerked awake in the pre-dawn grayness of dripping vegetation. Bird calls echoed above his head in ghostly dissonance, like a reveille bugle summoning the troops to another day of battle. The last gossamer thread of clouds fluttered overhead as the sun lipped above the horizon, waves of steaming moisture rising to greet its onslaught. was a terrific piece of description.

OK fawning is over. Ahem. Carry on.

You're making me blush...and I'm loving it.

Your avi is just perfect for this part, Angel thrashing in the grip of his nightmares.

I find it really interesting the way the two characters compliment each other, shore up their weakness and add to their strengths. The story has kind of pulled the reins out of my hands, doing terrible things like adding plot when I'm not looking. It's scaring me. I've only been doing ficlets lately. Eeeep to a multi-parter!

That was superb. The language you used to describe the atmosphere was brilliant. You gave a nice bit of incite into what kind of person both Angel and Spike have become. Yes, Angel did do some horrible things, but he knows that they were horrible and wants to still be a good person. Spike is tough, and will do whatever he can to find the person that he cares about.
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

I'm so glad you still like Angel. I was worried there would be a bad reaction to what he's had to do in the past. I like to think of him as a mixture of Angel and Angelus. He's basically the good man that is Angel, but he also has the capability to do what he was to to protect the ones he thinks of as his own. In this case, Spike.

Angel admires the flock of birds, Spike - not that far away (yayz!) disparages them. Brilliant.

You continue to do wonderful work on this story, and the title and description of Spike is perfect.

Oh I'm very glad you liked that. I thought it would be a good way to show the difference in their basic attitude. Spike is the much more pragmatic of the two. He has no time for anything but what he's concentrating all his efforts on, Angel. The beauty, forgive the pun, can go take a flying f**k for all he cares! Just show him the Angel. :D But he has a deep heart and life has taught him to protect it.

Angel's has an artist's eye for beauty. He can be stunned by the sight of it. No wonder Spike caught his attention. But they can both be very stubborn when it comes to getting their way.
