Spirit House Chapter 2 Revised

Jul 23, 2008 20:18

The next chapter of Spirit House steps up to the plate. :D Don't mind me. I just got home from work, and I'm exhausted and feeling a bit silly. I wanted to put this up before I answer this afternoon's feedback, just in case I fall asleep sitting up. I hate to promise something and not come through. Friday morning will be the new chapter.

I can't express how lovely it makes me feel when you say the things you say. But it does. Make me feel absolutely wonderful and want to keep writing more so you'll say it again.

*big smooches and cuddly hugs*

You don’t sound like somebody out of a history book. Aren’t you suppose to be saying ‘forsooth’ or ‘gadzooks’ or something dumb like that?”

Heeee. Nice workaround for the issue of 15th-century dialogue. :)

LOL. I wanted Will to sound like Spike so I had to come up with something. Of course, he'd really be speaking in Old English if I didn't think of a way around it.

So lazy me, I thought, forget that! I'm not that good of a researcher. I'm glad you liked my solution. :D

Woo, another great part, where to start. I love it all, really. Liam's denial and how William is reacting to it is so Angel and Spike. This I loved especially:

“It’s some kind of scam. You’re trying to scare me away. Break the lease. You switched paintings and now you’re...” his voice stuttered into silence at William’s look of contempt.

“Suppose you can’t be that bloody gorgeous and have brains, too. Funny, that. Just admit it, pet. You fancy me. It’s you that’s pulled me out of the painting. If you didn’t want me, I wouldn’t be here.”

It's true enough, Liam's wanted William brings him back whether he owns up to it or not. I love that he's taken to trying to pull him out in this part but unable to. Almost like it isn't a conscious thing. I so can't wait to read more. I also loved Liam's reluctance to fight up until William was in danger, then he didn't hesitate at all:

It was two against one and the one was someone Liam was beginning to have a proprietary interest in. With a shout, he flung himself into the fray before the ( ... )

Good old Angel. I mean Liam. He never wants to believe anything Will tells him because it's just soooo insane. Can't blame him, poor baby. Paintings turned into flesh and blood!

Liam always thought he was a peaceable man, but when Will was in danger, all bets were off. He just plowed right in there. Then was horrified by chopping a man's feet off. As a modern man, I don't think he had any conception of what that kind of violence would entail.

As for the kiss. LOL We all know Spike's attitude about fighting and fucking. One leads naturally to another and he was going for it. The only thing that could have stopped him was the massacre.

I'm so glad you're enjoying the reread. The new part is up now! *smooch*

LOL. I didn't want to be all Missus Malaprop in the historical part. Fanfic is very educational. :D
