I don't do Christmas cards anymore. It became too much because we left for Hilton Head when I needed to start them. I pushed myself to do them for a few years, but about 12 years ago, I stopped. Once we settle in one place, I may start again. I miss it. But the way I did cards -- with a personal note on each card -- is quite time-consuming.
I've been trying to think of something that ages well. Ha! Not much. But the only thing that came to mind was wine!
Since I don't work, the question about a "day off" doesn't apply.
There are only a couple I do notes for and they are from friends from high school and Reno (hard to believe I left there nearly 35 years ago come tomorrow)
That works for me.
Reminds me of what Lady Crawley (Maggie Smith) said. "What's a weekend?"
I thought about it a few days ago. I used to love doing it but the last year or two I haven't had the time or energy. I'd like to send some this year.
I like your friends' answers about Tom Selleck and the Golden Girls! The only thing that comes to mind is nature. A friend posted a pic on FB of the property I grew up on and I could see a tree I planted in second grade, it was amazing to see how much it's grown.
I'd meet a friend for breakfast, go shopping for a new pair of Hoka shoes (only because I really need new shoes, otherwise I'd shop for plants or yarn), stop at the grocery store, then come home and make a nice dinner for David.

1) I don't have any current addresses for anyone that I might want to send any holiday cards to
2) The Trio! Oh, and pickled vegetables
3) Go on a walking tour atm

Age does help pickled vegetable, at least to a point. Then it's best to just eat them.

True, true.
I just thought of two more items that can improve with age: fine wine and honey...

2) The Golden Girls and Living Single, the shows are definitely ahead of their time :)
3) Catch up on sleep!

Same here! But I'm ready!
They sure were.
A worthy aim, indeed.

I hope that you can find the time and energy. You really are flat out.
Isn't it great? We had a little tree take root across the canal when we first moved into this place and now it's four stories high :D
Sounds like a fun way to spend some time off.

Certainly not my animals. The cats are consistently annoying and the horse is more of a brat than ever.
Make a list of things to do. Maybe even do a few of them (especially if cooking is on the list).

That's what I heard. I'm guessing my card to you will be late (when I get around to mailing them next week).
Hahahaha! I have to admit that Tina has vastly improved with time.
I keep thinking about that community we discussed. Still haven't done anything about it, though. Sigh...
