Woke up yesterday morning feeling like I should do something with The Librarians, so I came up with this.

------------

The Annex hummed with quiet activity. Eve adjusted her training schedule, but her mind wandered to the shower she'd barely had time to take. Flynn, splurging on another ancient artifact, had left her to manage a storm of paperwork.

“Anything definite yet?” she asked Jenkins, who was sheltering in the corner with a book.

“Not until Flynn returns,” he replied, not looking up.

Work never ended here, but Eve couldn’t help the faint smile tugging at her lips. This was her family now-chaos, quirks, and all. “Training at 0700,” she called, knowing Flynn would be late. As always.

Here's mine...

*

Each grain of sand a mother,

Each wave a working sea,

that births a weathered warning,

no shelter sings for thee

*

Shores splurge their musty dampness,

they hoard their shells of gold,

to spend on boat’s beginnings,

before their form does hold

*

Define the roads before the ruin,

define the shipless sea,

whose name is sprawled amongst the stars,

before life came to be.

*

Definite the world’s first spin,

the ocean dawns a breath,

to train its wheels on liquid tracks,

that ride away from death

Superb. I know I keep saying it, but you are so talented and write these poems so well.
