4. I grew up in Vermont, so snow was no big deal. My aunt live in Rhode Island and we visited every year, so I’m not so sure I got very excited about that, either. Now, my first erupting volcano - that was exciting!
I'll bet! Where did this happen?
As for me:
1. First time you cooked for someone else?
My mom had a hysterectomy when I was around twelve and I was left to cook for my dad and little brother. So, around 1965.
2. First time you threw up in someone else's toilet?
I don't think I ever have.
3. First time you did anything illegal?
First time I smoked pot, so 1973.
4. First time you saw snow/the ocean (whichever is more exotic)?
First time I saw the ocean was on a trip to California. Around 1962.
5. First thought when I say "crumple-horned snorcack"?
I actually can't remember. I've always helped my mum with the cooking as far back as I can remember. When I was in my early teens I often cooked for my parents on Sundays because they spent the morning in our garden lot.
2. First time you threw up in someone else's toilet?
I remember I threw up in a friend's house once when I was maybe 17 or so? We went to a carnival thing together and the next day her mum made meatloaf with whole eggs in the middle. My stomach didn't like that at all.
And then 2023/2024 I threw up quite a lot in restaurant toilets and at work. Ugh!
3. First time you did anything illegal?
Hm ... I can't remember anything specific. Maybe petty theft of a sweet or something when I was a kid.
4. First time you saw snow/the ocean (whichever is more exotic)?
When I was little snow was still a "thing" in my area, so I saw it from early on. The sea - when I was around 6 and we went on holiday to Spain. (Oh look - Spain already!!!)
5. First thought when I say "crumple-horned
( ... )
1. First time you cooked for someone else? Hm. I don't cook except holidays, so I would probably have been in my 30s doing that.
2. First time you threw up in someone else's toilet? Also in my 30s. Just told this story to friends at dinner. I think it was my birthday. Too many beers on an empty stomach, then a rich dinner. My poor friend had to put up with me being MISERABLY sick all night.
3. First time you did anything illegal? I was around 12 or so. Minor shoplifting.
4. First time you saw snow/the ocean (whichever is more exotic)? I can't remember. I was a kid. It snowed where I grew up from time to time, and I know I saw the ocean as a kid, somewhere in L.A.
5. First thought when I say "crumple-horned snorcack"? Dr. Seuss?

1. First time you cooked for someone else? I used to cook for my sisters (and they for me) when we were sharing a flat when I was in my early 20s.
2. First time you threw up in someone else's toilet? I've never done that.
3. First time you did anything illegal? I've never done that either.
4. First time you saw snow/the ocean (whichever is more exotic)? First time I saw snow I was about 34 I think.
5. First thought when I say "crumple-horned snorcack"? I think of a crumple-horned cow.

I can see how snow at 34 could be quite the experience!

2. Probably 7th or 8th grade. Started feeling sick in one class.
Got up and made a mad dash for the bathroom, didn't make it. :o
3. First time? Not really sure.
I was a kid and I stole something from a store.
Parents found out and made me take it back.
4. Well, I live in Minnesota, so snow is not exotic. lol...
First time I saw an ocean would have been 2006.
5. I'm going to have to go with your answer. :o :o :o

Oh, dear, I'd forgotten your wonky tum. I'm glad it's better now.
You and Spain were destined to have a history!

Oh, that must have been a miserable night for both of you. I've only done that a couple of times. That was enough!
It does sound Suess-like, to be sure.
