Sorry, NBC, but this is NOT a "Chuck Sandwich"

I've been hearing NBC's promos for the Thursday night line-up and I'm seriously irritated.

"It's a Chuck sandwich! An all-new episode of Chuck followed by an all-new Celebrity Apprentice followed by another episode of Chuck!"

The analogy falls completely apart. The episodes of Chuck are the bread in the sandwich and the filling is Celebrity ( Read more... )

You would know! What is a 'thunderbolt'?

It doesn't make sense; a lightning bolt strikes and then there is thunder but what is a thunderbolt?

I love your word whims! They are fun to think about...

As for the programming, I have to agree with you. Network TV is v. sucky.

A thunderbolt is a lightning flash with a simultaneous clap of thunder. It's not actually used to mean that all the time, of course, but that's the meaning. (I checked with my handy-dandy Oxford Enlish Dictionary to be sure.)
