Thoughts on Angel
Another great episode of what's shaping up to be the season that might topple season three. However, watching this episode irked me something fierce. Since some of you might not have seen the ep yet, I'm cutting. Just because you mean so much to me.
So, let me get this straight. Wes killing his 'father' shows Fred how much he cares for her. But, when Gunn kills her professor, the person that subjected her to the hell called Pylea and prevents her from becoming a killer, she can't identify with him anymore?
And for all the Buffy/Angel shippers out there saying that Angel and Buffy belong together, you need to open your eyes. How many people has Angel slept with since breaking up with Buffy? I count Darla, Cordelia (even if it was a dream, it was real to him at the time), and Eve. How many people has Spike slept with ever since declaring his love for Buffy? Hmm, one. And that one was Buffy. Speaking of Cordelia, am I the only one pissed off about the fact that Angel's pretty much dismissed her after the relationship that was developed through season three? I couldn't have been the only one that thought that Angel and Cordelia were perfect for one another. Then again, I still want Fred and Gunn, so what do I know?
And finally, there's Spike. Good ol' Spike. Who had gone to hell and back to get his soul. Who finally proved to Buffy that he truly loved her. Who gave his life to save the world. Who gave Buffy an out by telling her that she wasn't in love with him even though we all know that she was. Who is now mere comic relief. Sure, he was pretty much that back in season four of BtVS, but give the man some credit. At least the preview for next week looks promising. Here's hoping Spike beats the crap out of Angel. Sure, I know they're hyping it because Angel slept with Drusilla, but I'm sure there's gonna be some Buffy issues to work out as well.
