Like a number of other folks, the new TOS was the last straw and I'm decamping for Dreamwidth for good. I know, I haven't been posting anyway, but I really do need something beside Tumblr and Twitter to say the things I want to say -- but don't necessarily want to say in public.

It's 15 years for me and I understand completely. It kills me to see the death of LJ, but here we are.

I agree. Had to agree just to open up my page. Can it all just be transferred to Dreamwidth? Easily, that is?

If you haven't imported anything before, yes. The queue takes a while (because it's suddenly seeing heaving traffic for some reason), but it is a relatively straightforward process. Icons, entries, comments, tags can all get sucked over. Oh, and you can claim your open ID on DW once you import, so any comments you made will look like they came from DW.

You'll lose anything you posted in communities, unless the community owner imports over. I'm tracking down the last of my fic that was posted to communities and porting that over to AO3. Once that's done, I'll be deleting this journal, so by the end of the month.

Thanks for the info. I have a DW journal, I just never used it before. I might export over whether or not I still have LJ. At least I'd have a backup one way or another
