Interesting times! You did seem a lot more relaxed last time I saw you, though of course this could be partly because you were sort of on holiday. It seemed more like an 'in yourself' relaxation though, Steven noticed as well and he'd barely even met you before.
Ah, studying, I remember it well. I loved my degree but did a similar thing, it wasn't enough to pass, I had to do *really well* in everything. Since I'm dyslexic, and was doing a degree in English and Philosophy, the pressure I put on myself was immense. It did pay off on results day though. I can't even imagine what it would have been like if I'd been a parent at the time as well, many props to you.
IIRC, I was something of an expert in being "on edge" and drunk, and a combination of the two -_-
I think I've probably grown up a fair deal since my Liverpool days, and since moving to Denmark, have become much more laid back. I think it's one of the advantages of living in such a small town. Glad to hear that it's had a positive effect on me :)
I couldn't imagine how tough it must've been going through your course with dyslexia. Kudos to you on that one! Being a parent is fairly easy, to be honest, as Camilla is currently on maternity leave until Sep (Danes get much longer maternity/paternity release). I also think that being a student is advantageous for me as a father, since my working days are generally shorter and I get more days off/committed to home-based study, which means I can spend more time with Lily.
Ah, shiny. When I was a student, even though I didn't have that much contact time, almost all my waking hours were devoted to reading/study, especially in my 3rd year. I worked in Quiggins as you may recall, but it was often fairly quiet so even while 'working' I was doing course reading. If I hadn't loved the subjects, I'd never have made it through. Totally worth it. :-)
Indeed. You never did make it over here for a visit, though. Although, I'm going to be over in July for a few days (primarily Somerset, but London for a day or so). Reckon you'd be up for a pint/meet up on Thursday 12th July?
