...or at least, I've been updated in the company directory. Not sure when any of the small financial reward will kick in but I've been promoted to a Director of Technology. I've got 2 direct reports now and sometime soon (hopefully early next week) I'll be moving into an office after being banished out into the cube farm for 9 months and 8 days ago

Thanks. Hope all is well out in the west with you. The best news though is that I finally got Carlos back in and he starts a freelance gig on my team on Monday. Now I just have to spend the next 9 months pushing to convert his gig to permanent staff and all will be good for him again.

Still the layoff for him seems to have been more good than bad since his severance package would have carried him through the end of next month before he'd have to go on unemployment. He's also getting pulled in at a more senior level, something the group he got laid off from wasn't pushing through. So that's really great news.

You're welcome. Things are okay here. Just trying to readjust to living here. It's so BRIGHT! The neon is killing me. ;) I did text Carlos earlier this week- he seemed happy about going back to work. :D

Thanks! I had given up on the promotion at the end of January figuring it just wasn't going to happen. It's nice that the minor victories can come through now and then. Hope all is well with you and the kids!
