So, after the past few years of hectic schedules, work annoyances, and just in general watching too many people deteriorate into nasty little fits of not being fun to be around for whatever major circumstances are or aren't going on in their lives. I've decided that 2010 will be a different year and I'll be doing my best to avoid all the usual social trappings that I tend to get sucked into. I'll be looking for alternative entertainment and amusement to get my head on straight before attempting to go back to my normal stupidity next year. So, the list of events I am already not planning on attending:
Mid Atlantic Leather
International Mr. Leather
Leather Pride Night
Folsom East
My Birthday
NYC Pride
Folsom Street Fair
NYC Mr. Eagle (or even setting foot in the bar for the year)
...in fact, strike just about any organized leather community event from my list for the entire year.
That said, in absence of attending any of these things, the ones that I know deserve good support (e.g. LPN and Folsom East) I'll endeavor to make a minor financial contribution to this year.
In 2010 I plan to do some travel:
Las Vegas (was hoping for January, on MAL weekend but now pushed back because of the work trip to LA the first week of the month that I'll have to wait for expenses to be reimbursed for.)
London
Berlin
Copenhagen
Helsinki
Beyond that, I'm not sure, but I know that I seriously need a break from all the usual routine and won't be tolerant of the usual drama and bullshit people can't leave at home and instead drag to these things. I'm only responsible for my own happiness and this is one of those ways I plan to keep myself happy to start off the new decade.
