So I went round to Rick's at the weekend with a lump of butter and stuck it in a saucepan, melted it, skimmed it and separated its milky white solids. We might not have drunk it out of each other's armpits but at least we got one thing clear.

Thanks to the Freedom of Information Act, we no longer have to search through boxes of hairdryers to find such things.

And not just a pleasure: no longer does one risk trapping one's fingers in the filter. I thought of paying a boy to do it for me but their hygiene is generally not quite the thing.
