"Hi! You've reached Kathy's voicemail. I'm not here right now, but please leave a message so I can get back to you! Mom, Dad, I'm fine, I love you, I miss you, and yes, I'm studying hard."
Beep
Three ringing tones are heard before an automated message picks up. "We're sorry, your call cannot be completed at this time. All circuits are busy at this time. We are requesting all non-urgent calls be put on hold to keep the lines clear for emergency services. Thank you for your cooperation as we work to get the lines cleared." The tone plays again and the message is repeated three more times before the line automatically disconnects.
Very rarely, a call manages to get through and a message can be left.
*There are several clicks, as if an attempt at connection is being made, but then there's only silence and hissing on the line until, eventually, the phone disconnects.*
