we sleep in winter space and quiet places
Yesung/Ryeowook
PG, fluff, romance/love
You’re in a world where you are the most important thing to him, and he is most important to you.
(500 words)
A/N: This is, um, my first YeWook ever. Be somewhat nice, pleaseeee. I came up with this on the train to Bronxville last month, because I was listening to
Winter Sleep and I wanted to write something to pass the time. Then I remembered the YeWook theme from the 100 fics challenge, so I started this. Therefore, I'm knockin' off another theme from the fic challenge, woot!

It’s so quiet that you’re staring into a white distance, pulling on the strings of your knitted hat, and wondering when the sounds had ended. You’re not deaf-you can still hear the wind mutter and scooting around flakes-but for a few moments you wonder if this is what it almost feels like.
Then he comes into view and kisses your chilled lips. Yesung puts warmth into it and you don’t feel as cold or deaf as before. Well, you never really felt deaf, just something like it. His hands have the same warmth as his lips as they touch your dry, freezing cheeks.
He takes you to a world where he lets you call him by his real name: Jongwoon. The world is your world, but not completely, because it’s his world. It’s the place where you are the only thing that matters to him, and he is the only one that matters to you. The door behind him closes and you abandon the old world-the one outside, swallowed by bitter cold. You want to be with Jongwoon.
You’re afraid for a moment, because now you’re alone in a room, and the old world is just right outside the window, turning violent with snow. He’s only been gone for a moment, but loneliness turns to fear and grabs you by the wrists, shoves you to the floor. Your mind is in a new place, because you’ve never felt this way before, and it stings the skin of your hands where the fear scrapes you.
Jongwoon picks you up again, and pressed you against him. ‘Hold me,’ you want to say, but he already is. Everything is warm again. He tugs the hat from your head gently and lets it call to the floor at your feet.
Your lips find his as he removes your scarf-you’re pretty sure he took it, because suddenly you aren’t wearing it anymore, but maybe you were too distracted to realize it. He smashes you against him and the hold is so tight that you can feel your heart bursting.
That night, you dream about those frightening quiet places in the snow, the ones where you’re so close to deafness. And when you wake up in the morning, you’re wrapped in warm blankets and love and his arms. You come closer and bury your face into his neck, hiding from the old world outside.
It’s alright…you’re alright now he soothes as his hand traces circles and triangles around your back.
You’re afraid, but you can’t get the words out. You feel frozen, and all you want is for him to keep you warm, forever.
He pulls his head away, and stares at you. His eyes are bright in the new morning, despite the gray clouds that make you shrink back into warmth and Jongwoon’s arms.
Jongwoon reads you like a worn out book. You’re stronger than you think.
When the words reach your ears, you feel his lips against your forehead. You’ve never felt any braver.
//…
It's short. I be failing all over the place :\
I never really had the desire to write YeWook until I wrote this. If anyone wants me to write it, I will, since I always appreciate requests. Sooooo if you like YeWook, and you like my writing (I dunno why you would), feel free to throw prompts at me for the future. Or shout at me. Or both. Each of those methods are effective :D
