Just a quick clarification on the weapons issue. Hunters have never had access to automatic weapons. Automatic weapons have always been restricted to law enforcement officials. Anything you have heard about hunters using automatic weapons was either illegal hunting or false information.
And on the assault weapons ban, it was a totally pointless ban. All it did was limit what ACCESSORIES people could put on their guns, as in people couldn't thread the barrel of their rifle to put on a flash hider. All a flash hider does is change where the flash from the rifle distributes as it leaves the barrel. OH NO IF A GUY CAN PUT A FLASH HIDER ON HIS RIFLE HE CAN KILL WITH IMPUINTY!!! It really doesn't make a difference.
The fact of the matter is, we have plenty of regulations on rifles as it is. The only problem is the implementation of those bans, and the will of smugglers to keep bringing these weapons into the country.
