Uruha/Reita - I Never... - PG - Oneshot

“Good point, but how on Earth did you go so long without kissing anyone?!” Aoi asked, honestly interested.

“It just never happened!” Reita growled.

“But… you’re Reita! From the GazettE! And even before that, you were a hottie! I saw pictures of you as a kid and you were cute then too! Maybe a little awkward looking…”

“Hey!” Reita said, clearly offended.

“Sorry, but my point is… how did you manage to go twenty-six years without being kissed?!”

“Skills?” Reita offered lamely.

Rolling his eyes, Aoi said, “Never mind. That shouldn’t be a reason you turn Uruha down, though!”

“Actually, it seems like an excellent reason to do so,” Reita said.

“It’s a stupid reason!” Aoi argued.

“No,” Reita defended, “It’s not! I really want to be with him, Aoi! What if I’m awful at it?! It would be better if I just didn’t date him at all. That way I’ll never know what I’m missing,” Reita finished sadly.

“That is the dumbest excuse for turning down a date I have ever heard!”

“Aoi please don’t make me feel worse,” Reita pleaded. “And I’m begging you, please… please don’t mention this to anyone. Especially not Ruki!”

Pausing to think about it briefly, Aoi finally sighed and said, “Alright. I won’t say anything,” Aoi said. Reita relaxed back into the couch, but tensed as soon as he heard Aoi say, “Only if you promise to accept next time Uruha asks you out.” Reita did not like this compromise, but he took what was being offered.

As promised-the next time Uruha had asked Reita out, Reita accepted. Everyone was excited about it. Uruha was the most excited, considering he finally got what he wanted after many, many tries. Ruki, Aoi, and Kai were excited because they didn’t have to listen to Uruha whine about Reita turning him down anymore.

Reita, on the other hand, was not excited at all. Maybe that sounds awful, but he really wasn’t excited. He was a downright nervous wreck. He was nervous all the way up until the time of their date… and then he was even more nervous, if that was even possible. He was nervous throughout the whole date. He basically did everything he feared he would: spilled his drink on Uruha during the movie, spilled his food on himself at dinner, hit Uruha in the face accidentally with a door. Reita even forgot his wallet-actually forgot his wallet.

Reita had seen enough movies and TV shows to know that nerves are supposed to ease once the date gets started and you realize there’s nothing to be nervous about since this person really likes you for who you are. He began to realize that all of that was a load of crap. Uruha was walking him to his apartment door and his nerves were overtaking his entire existence. A nervous monster had swallowed Reita.

Reita had seen enough movies and TV shows to know that this was the part of the date where you kiss. Uruha was leaning his arm against the wall outside of Reita’s apartment as his face was hovering close to Reita’s. He was so close that Reita could feel Uruha’s breath hitting his face softly, only serving to give Reita a nervous kick in the ass-pushing him to say, “Well, it’s pretty late. Better get inside, then!” He fumbled behind him for the doorknob, forgetting in his nervous state that he needed to unlock it first.

“Rei, It’s only 9pm,” Uruha said as he smirked. “Besides,” he added as his smirk grew even more devious, “I haven’t given you a goodnight kiss yet.”

“I go to bed at 9:10, so I guess that’ll have to wait for next time!” Reita replied, still fumbling for his doorknob.

Uruha’s smirk transformed into an amused grin as he said, “Oh, so that means we’re already on for date number two? How about tomorrow?”

“Sure! But I really need to go to bed now,” Reita said, faking a yawn as he still fumbled for his doorknob.

Reaching behind Reita and grabbing his hand as he laced their fingers together, Uruha said, “I’ll let you get inside and go to bed, but I really can’t leave without kissing you goodnight, Reita…”

Reita saw Uruha leaning closer and closer-knowing there was no way out of this. Uruha was blocking him to the front and his apartment door was blocking his way from behind. Reita considered the possibility of escaping to the side but before he could efficiently entertain the idea, he felt Uruha’s lips pressing against his-initiating the best kiss Reita had ever had. Of course, there wasn’t much competition-there wasn’t any competition-but that didn’t stop this kiss from being anything less than perfect. Uruha moved his lips gently against Reita’s and Reita responded without even thinking about it.

Uruha pulled away after only a few seconds of kissing. Reita knew he was blushing; he could feel it. Kissing wasn’t anywhere near as difficult as he had thought it might have been, but that doesn’t mean he was any good at it. He looked at Uruha nervously, hoping he wouldn’t be dropped on the spot after Uruha decided he was an awful kisser and that he never wanted to see his no-good-at-kissing lips again. To Reita’s surprise, Uruha was smiling at him.

Uruha smiled even wider as he asked, “I’ll pick you up for dinner tomorrow?” Reita nodded slowly at Uruha and Uruha leaned in towards Reita’s ear, whispering, “You’re a great kisser Reita. I couldn’t even tell you’d never done it before.” He leaned in and pecked Reita quickly on the lips before he turned and walked out of Reita’s sight.

Reita was frozen with shock and embarrassment, but finally managed to pull out his key and unlock his door. He was more than a little pissed off that Aoi had said something to Uruha about his most embarrassing secret, but Reita was too happy to be angry for longer than a minute. Reita decided that since Aoi had only told Uruha to help Reita out, he would let it go. Especially since the night turned out the way it had; Reita had his first date and his first kiss under his belt and he already had a second date lined up for tomorrow… with Uruha. Besides, it’s not like Aoi told Ruki-who would surely never, never let Reita live down the fact he had lived to be twenty-six without being kissed romantically.

Reita felt his phone vibrating in his pocket and he flipped it open to see he had a text message from Ruki. He opened the message and read: “Uru devirginize your lips yet?”

And that’s when Reita decided he would spit in Aoi’s food every chance he got.

A/N: This idea came out of nowhere. Usually I have even a vague sense of where the inspiration came from. Nope, not this time.
