Synopsis: "Why does my phone ring with Super Lover whenever Ruki calls? Does anyone know?"
Comments: A birthday fic for Ruki! LMAO this song was introduced to me last night and I just couldn't help myself. If you don't know the song "Super Lover" by W-inds, you might want to listen:
Super Lover “Where the hell are those two?” Kai asked impatiently as he paced back and forth across the practice room.
“Oh, you know them,” Aoi said with a shrug as he plopped down on the couch. “You should not have let them have alcohol knowing we had work the next day,” he finished with a chuckle.
“It was Ruki’s birthday!” Kai shouted as he stopped pacing and turned to face Aoi, throwing his hands in the air. “They promised to be fine for practice!”
“Would you just relax a little, Kai? I’ll call Reita right now and see where they are,” Ruki assured as he pulled out his cell phone and started to dial Reita’s number.
Meanwhile, in the bachelor’s pad belonging to none other than Reita and Uruha, said-owners were sprawled across the living room. Reita was sleeping on the floor as if he had fallen flat on his stomach and decided not to get up while Uruha had claimed the couch and had drool attractively dribbling down his chin. The atmosphere was as quiet and peaceful as the eye of a storm, but music suddenly broke the state of calm.
SUPER LOVER dare ni demo sou. Tatta hitori no koibito ga iru.
Groaning, Reita lifted his head slightly as he rubbed his cheek that had been pressed against the hard floor. Realizing what had awakened him, he scrunched his nose a little at the song. Reaching for a shoe, he threw it at Uruha. Yelping at the contact of a shoe to his head, Uruha jumped up and rolled off of the couch and onto the floor, immediately having Reita tell him, “Hey, your phone is ringing.”
Blinking away sleep and trying to shake his state of being disoriented, Uruha finally grasped the situation and responded indignantly, “That’s not my phone!”
“Well what the fuck is it then?” Reita asked in annoyance as he sat up and squinted, looking around the room. Uruha caught his eye and Reita noticed he was pointing at their coffee table. Reita turned in the direction he was pointing and saw his cell phone jumping around on the tabletop as it rang. “What?! No!” he said as he scrambled over towards his phone and looked to see who was calling as he momentarily forgot his confusion over his ring tone.
“Who is it?” Uruha asked as he wiped the drool off of his chin.
“Ruki!” Reita answered with surprise and then flipped the phone open. “Hello?”
“Where the hell are you two?!” Ruki shouted.
Bringing a hand to his head in attempts of calming the pain Ruki’s shrill yelling had caused, Reita asked, “Can you keep it down? I feel like someone slammed my head against a wall for six hours.”
“YOU TWO ARE LATE FOR PRACTICE AND KAI IS HAVING A HISSY FIT,” Ruki shouted even louder, not caring about Reita’s pain.
Whimpering, Reita pathetically answered, “Practice?”
“HURRY THE FUCK UP, WOULD YOU?” Ruki shouted again, hanging up before Reita even had a chance to respond.
Reita closed his phone slowly, staring at it in scrutiny with hopes of answering his confusion somehow. Whether it was a result of staring at his phone or some higher power kicking his ass into gear, Reita suddenly jumped to his feet and shouted, “WE’RE LATE FOR PRACTICE! HOLY SHIT, KAI IS GOING TO KILL US!”
“I’m going to kill you if you don’t shut up!” Uruha whined as he rubbed his forehead and threw a pillow at Reita, but missed his target.
Reita rushed around the apartment gathering his keys, wallet, and hurriedly putting on his jacket as he urged Uruha, “Hurry up! We have to go!”
After many complaints of how awful his hair looked and how he couldn’t be seen in public without styling it, Reita basically shoved Uruha out of their apartment and into his car. They were half way to work when the two heard a song playing in addition to that on the radio: SUPER LOVER kimi ga suki dayo. Boku to saisho no kisu wo shiyou.
Suddenly, Reita remembered about his mysterious new ring tone. “What the hell is that even doing on my phone?!” he asked as he pulled his phone out of his pocket and tossed it at Uruha.
Shrugging in response to Reita, who was driving and therefore not paying attention to Uruha, Uruha checked the caller ID on Reita’s cell and sighed. “It’s Ruki again,” he informed as he flipped the phone open. “What is it?” he asked in irritation.
“Are you fuckers even out of your apartment yet?!” Ruki asked angrily.
Uruha huffed and then spat, “You know, just because it was your birthday yesterday doesn’t mean you can yell at everyone!”
“No, you’re right. It doesn’t,” Ruki responded gently. Uruha nodded with satisfaction, thinking he’d won the battle. Much to Uruha’s disappointment, especially that of his hangover-pained head, Ruki shouted again, “BUT YOU BEING LATE DOES! YOU KNOW HOW ANNOYING KAI GETS WHEN HE’S IN MOMMY-MODE!”
“For fuck’s sake, Ruki! We’re almost there! Take some chill pills, would you?” Uruha said angrily and then slammed the phone closed, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Why in the world is Ruki’s ring tone Super Lover?!” Reita asked incredulously.
“Hell if I know!” Uruha spat, still put off at being yelled at so much this morning.
------------------------------
“Why aren’t they here yet?!” Kai demanded, still pacing the room impatiently.
Aoi rolled his eyes from his seat on the couch while Ruki pulled out his cell phone and began dialing Reita’s number again. “Reita said they were almost here. I’ll call and see what’s taking so long.” Ruki held the phone to his ear, waiting for Reita to answer. Before Ruki ever got an answer, they heard the sound of hurried footsteps mingled with music: … koibito ga iru. SUPER LOVER kimi ga suki dayo. Boku to saisho no kisu wo shiyou.
The music gradually increased in volume, as did the footsteps, until finally Reita and Uruha appeared in the doorway-panting slightly. “I’m… I’m sorry we’re late,” Reita said as he tried to catch his breath.
Kai sighed with aggravation as he waved a hand dismissively at his late band mates, saying, “I guess it’s alright as long as you plan to practice extra hard.” Uruha and Reita nodded enthusiastically, relieved to be let off the hook so easily.
As the GazettE was getting situated to start practicing, Reita remembered about his ring tone. “Oh!” he chirped. “Why does my phone ring with Super Lover whenever Ruki calls? Does anyone know?” he asked as he looked around at his band mates. Aoi smirked and shrugged with a feigned ignorance. Reita already knew Uruha had no answers for him, so he turned to look at Ruki and was surprised to notice that Ruki was blushing. Narrowing his eyes curiously as he inspected Ruki, Reita wondered what would cause his friend to flush so brightly.
“Do you not remember?” Kai asked flatly, the question pulling Reita out of his staring at Ruki and instead encouraged his attention to focus on Kai.
With a slow shake of his head, Reita answered, “No…”
Snickers from Aoi could be heard in the background as Kai sighed and shook his head. Reita looked at his friends with even more confusion; Ruki was staring at the floor and shuffling his feet nervously. Kai smirked and said, “Maybe you shouldn’t drink so much, hmm?” He chuckled quietly and then attempted to refresh Reita’s memory. “Here’s what happened…”
------------------------------
Empty beer bottles scattered the table of the nightclub. Everyone except for Kai was a bit tipsy, but Reita and Uruha were completely sloshed. Uruha repeatedly poked Aoi in the side and giggled, earning swatting hands and mildly annoyed sighs from Aoi. Kai watched with amusement as Ruki and Reita played a game of Janken.
“Ha!” Reita shouted excitedly as he pumped a fist in the air. “I win again, Ru~”
“No!” Ruki whined, grabbing Reita’s hand and pulling it between them, signifying he wanted to play another round. They went through another round of Janken and Reita still came out the winner. “This isn’t fair!” Ruki pouted, crossing his arms.
“Aw, Ruuuuuukiiiiiii!” Reita drawled as he leaned over and rested his head on Ruki’s shoulder. “Don’t be that way!”
Glancing down at Reita, Ruki sneered and said, “It’s my birthday and I can’t even win a stupid game of Janken!”
Reita giggled-earning snickers from Aoi and Kai-and wrapped his arms around Ruki’s middle. He lifted his head off of Ruki’s shoulder and leaned in to whisper in his ear, “You know the loser has to let the winner kiss them, don’t you?” He pulled away slightly, grinning as he looked at Ruki’s quickly flushing face.
“Th-that’s not right! W-when has anyone ever played the game that way?!” he stuttered nervously as he tried to scoot closer to Kai in the booth and farther from Reita, but Reita’s hold around his middle tightened and pulled him so his side was pressed against Reita’s.
“Ever since you started losing so adorably,” Reita answered as he chuckled against Ruki’s ear. The feeling of Reita’s breath against his skin caused Ruki to shiver, much to Reita’s delight. Neither of them said anything for a few seconds; Reita stared at Ruki with a slightly predatory look in his eyes as Ruki’s cheeks flushed crimson.
Reita’s facial expression suddenly perked as he heard a new song starting to play. He smiled seductively at a slightly cowering Ruki and said, “I need Super Lover tonight.”
Ruki squeaked as he felt Reita pull him onto his lap in a straddling position. Not three seconds had passed before Reita moved a hand to the back of Ruki’s neck and pulled him down for a kiss.
Most likely, the two had forgotten their three friends were sitting merely feet away. It quickly became apparent they had forgotten; Uruha, Kai, and Aoi watched as Ruki slowly grinded against Reita's lap-the friction eliciting none-too-quiet moans from both of them.
“Maybe we should pull them off of each other?” Aoi asked a few minutes later as he watched Ruki devouring Reita’s lips with a hungry kiss.
Kai shrugged and said, “As soon as we see skin, we’ll separate them.”
Giggling, Uruha pointed at Reita-who was trying to pull off Ruki’s shirt-and said, “You might wanna get to separating.”
------------------------------
Reita stared with wide eyes and an open mouth at Kai as he finished telling the story of Ruki’s birthday outing. “And then,” Kai continued, “as I was driving you four idiots home-“
Kai was interrupted with four voices shouting indignantly, “Hey!”
“-you and Ruki were all over each other in my backseat. Aoi had to pull Ruki off of you and hold him to the seat,” Kai said with a roll of his eyes. Reita quickly stole a glance at Ruki and wondered when he had ever seen Ruki’s face as red as it was right now. “Once you two decided to stop sucking on each other, you found the next best form of entertainment-searching for ring tones.”
“I’m not sure which was worse-having to hold Ruki to the seat or having to listen to dozens of J-pop songs,” Aoi grumbled.
“Anyway,” Kai continued. “You two thought it was brilliant to change each other’s ring tones to Super Lover, you know… since it’s the song you first kissed to and all.”
“Kissed?!” Aoi asked incredulously. “Try swallowed each other’s faces!”
Reita blushed as he rubbed the back of his neck nervously and dared to glance in Ruki’s direction, but quickly averted his eyes. “Well, I guess that explains the ring tone.”
“It also explains why I’m calling you ‘Super Lover’ until the day you die!” Uruha said as he finally broke down in a fit of laughter. Uruha scurried over towards Ruki and fished his phone out of his pocket, ignoring any protests from Ruki. Using Ruki’s phone to call Reita’s phone (which Uruha still had from the phone call earlier,) Uruha giggled as he swayed his hips to the beat of Reita’s ring tone. Twirling his way towards Reita, he leaned in close to Reita’s face and sang “Super Lover!~“
