[He's obviously looking for a person as the source of the soliloquy, considering that he glances at Chen's cat form once in his scan of the backyard, but seems to disregard her.]

(Something doesn't seem quite right when meeting a person COMPLETELY OUT OF METAL. Shiny things have a habit of getting Chen's attention, but she wondered what manner of spellcard allowed one to become so metallic. The swaying tails and the eyes looking up at him juuuuust might suggest a little interest. That or the shy pawing of his ankles.)

[Gat looks down to see the cat pawing at his ankle. ... Since when did they get a cat? Is it a stray?]

[Carefully, Gat stoops down and takes a knee so he can get a closer look at the cat. He holds out a hand in an offer to pet it.]

(You'd definitely think it was...in this case, you'd think correctly. You might also think that a cat with no idea of her surroundings would be more welcoming of support.)

I know that this is probably the outside world. Mayohiga was much more comfy than this place. You think getting lost here would take me back there?

(nya nya nya nya ni nya ni nya nya-oh look, another cat! A nekomata at that! What fun it would be to talk with a cat who knows where it's a-oh, it's with a human. Still, it might be worth the interaction.) How come all of these houses look the same? It's more fun making up a song than it is to look at this town.

But if they make us ask only dumb questions, then no one will be able to ask smart ones! Smart ones that could actually lead to smart answers! This mastermind must be incredibly clever...

Sometimes I do when I'm bored or when I'm entertaining cats. It gets their attention pretty easily.

(Chen was always good at cute; it's probably a talent of hers. Still, she stops her song to look up at the lady, keeping her eyes focused on her while making her advance, paw by paw.)

(And lured she was to this unfamiliar woman as if stranger danger never existed expecting to be petted; pets were the best way to get her to like someone, especially during first meetings.)

(Usually they don't, but this is a cat who guarded a place where people end up if they get lost, so who knows?

Nonetheless, Chen is on the defensive! She wasn't sure what to think of this pursuer, but to be safe, she decides to hop up on the fences and walk around on those...so it's not the most clever choice of action, but fewer things could walk on fences than streets.

(Chen didn't know much of anything about coyotes, but since this one wasn't trying to knock her off the fence or growl at her, she didn't flee. She still stood atop the fence, though. Just in case.)
