Walking right around without a care. (for firsttsurugi)

With an accomplished smile gracing her lips the Princess and Heir to the throne of Seyruun signed off the final document with a flourish, her signature quite possibly the only pleasing sight upon the dull-looking parchment. With the quill set aside and the rest of the papers gathered together she tapped the bottom of it against the desk to tidy ( Read more... )

Prisoner once more... And yet for some peculiar reason, he didn't...feel like it. Frankly, if he wanted to, he could have busted out of here immediately. Sitting in the dark corner of his cell, his strength had returned to him, his hands absent-mindedly lingering to the flesh where a strap of leather once covered it up. The collar...was gone. So where in the world had he gone? Surely this could have been one of three things. Either a dream, a trick that had been manifest by Atia herself, or he was home. This part of home certainly didn't strike him as familiar. Unless this was upon a lost continent from the Planet. He...had no idea. The only solid foundation of a clue that he had, surprisingly lied with the guards that had attacked him. Lowering his head as he closed his eyes, the blond could remember...

"You there! Halt!!" Well. There went the peaceful route. Having awoken only hours ago within a grandeur room of sorts, he had just realized he was without a collar. And with all of his renewed strength. This ( ... )

Just knowing that someone had trespassed on the castle grounds with who knows what sort of intentions at that was enough to get the Princess' temper boiling. How dare they! What never did they have to try and bring harm upon the innocent lives within the castle! Well, Princess Amelia Wil Tesla Seyruun was not about to stand for any of this! Whoever this mysterious stranger was, they were doomed to get a piece of her mind ( ... )

As doors opened in the distance, complimented soon after by the clank of armor and the clicking of heels, he wasn't going to hold his breath, seeing as it was possible they were inspecting someone else. He could tell that there was a woman amongst them judging by those heels. Cloud didn't bother to look up from his corner as the guards and Princess stood before his cell. Looks like he was wrong, after all. They were here for him. Before he could even say anything though...

"Well then, Mister Mysterious Stranger!" a sharp gasp escaped his lips, one that could have easily been mistaken for shock or fear of sorts, not belonging to anyone in particular. Seyruun... He was wrong about assuming them to not be there for him. But he was right about something far more important. Where he was, and who was in his precense. Would she even remember him? As she ranted and raved on about dastardly deeds, injustice, unacceptance for his 'crimes'...it was sounding more and more like her. And from his corner, he could see her plain as day ( ... )

In retrospect it had been one of her finest speeches! Had her father been there in the dungeon with her, he too would have been moved to tears by how much heart and soul she put into her words. If there was ever to be one true love for the princess it would be justice of course!

"--and that is why you are wrong!"

But her pride was one to be short-lived. The finger used to point at the stranger had suddenly slacked just as her voice wavered upon the other man speaking, abruptly robbing her of the next few well chosen sentences she had already prepared in her mind.

No. There was no possible way that that voice was coming from the figure shrouded in the shadows.

"If that was the best of your forces, then I think they could use a lot more work..."

How could...?

This wasn't Atia.

This was Seyruun, her home.

Post Audience with the King; Castle Grounds/Garden firsttsurugi June 28 2009, 12:38:59 UTC
"...y'know?" he chanced a look over his shoulder back to Amelia, whom his back was against within the garden of the castle grounds. "I think he did like me," Cloud smiled. Their audience with Amelia's father went over swimmingly. After a humorous yet reluctant bow on the blond's part, while he was respectful, it didn't take much to see how nervous Cloud had been. Royalty of this calibur wasn't exactly on his list of individuals he visited or got comfortable around.

And yet here he was, beneath the peace loving sky, sun basking the two of them, back to back.

It made him think of the two of them as a team...

Cloud didn't mind that.

That was putting it lightly. From what Amelia had seen her father was just about ready to welcome him into the royal guard after hearing how he dealt with their own. But she was relieved to see that her father had not been angered at all. In fact, he seemed pleased! Granted she had to tell a fib here and a little white lie there to explain his arrival. It was for the best though. And it allowed Cloud to stay in the kingdom for as long as he wished to.

"Daddy is very a good judge of character!" she chimed in all knowingly with a smile. "Besides, he also trusts my judgment of others. And you're such a kind person Mister Cloud, there was no way Daddy would have thrown you out!"

It was such a peaceful afternoon with the warm rays of the sun beating down upon them. She tilted her head to the side just enough so that her cheek was resting against his back just beneath the shoulder, her hand reaching over to rest over his. "So now, until we can help you find your way home, you can stay as long as you wish to."

Turning away as she chimed in upon his words, he leaned more comfortably against her. "Thanks, Amelia... Always nice to have a vote of confidence." She flattered him almost too much, he thought. But what else could Cloud do other then take the compliments as they came? He had certainly been able to return them to Amelia in kind. He was also thankful that she had twisted his tale of arriving here. The last thing they needed to know was what had all went down when the island took them away...

Blinking down to the hand that rested over his, he blushed again as she spoke such words of kindness to him. For as long as he wished to. That was the issue with leaving... It was leaving the people he may have never seen again. But what of Tifa and the others on his planet? Or the others upon the island of Atia? A part of him felt guilty for even thinking about those times at the moment, and once more, his attention was focused on Amelia as he looked back over his shoulder with a warm smile.

"I'd like nothing better."

It made her smile even warmer and brighter when she heard these words. With a gentle squeeze of his hand. Amelia could only imagine what things must have felt like to him to be away from his home still, even after finding means of leaving the island behind. Their friends they had left behind there... his friends that were still living where he was from... It was a lonely sort of feeling.

That was the sort of feeling she wanted to make sure her friend would not experience. At least, not while she was around to keep him company! "Well, there is a lot we can do! And of course I'll show you to your room too once the preparations are finished."

"Embrace your dreams..."

The royal guard quirked their heads in mild confusion to the blond's words. They had concluded their day of training just now. He had been working with them for about a week now...if he was keeping track of his days correctly. He needed something to do, after all. And something to take his mind off of the potentially very real fact...the very blunt reality, that he very well might have not been returning home anytime soon ( ... )

It had taken a bit of persuasion, but after finishing all of the required duties that involved tending to state matters ahead of schedule, the Princess of Seyruun was granted permission to take leave of the castle for some time in favor of taking to the castle grounds. With a gracious bow of her head and a warm smile on her lips, Amelia was soon hurrying off down the halls and through the stairwells as quickly (and royal-like at that) as she possible could without attracting too much attention ( ... )

"... I'm awake," he spoke softly, smiling behind closed eyes. Cloud was often aware of his surroundings, even when relaxed. It was the life of a hardened fighter that molded him the way that he had been. He was prepared for anything, could sense that someone was near...but a hunch told him that there was nothing to worry abut as this person stopped by.

It was just them for now... Talking, staying silent, sitting there beside her as he let the day drift by after helping the royal guard... It mattered not to him.

It seemed like she needed a break from her duties too. A Princess to the end, maybe she had found the time to just be Amelia for him. Just as he could just be Cloud for her.

"... I like you, Mister Cloud. And I... I think I may be in love with you as well."

Cloud watched as the city beyond the castle slept, as the stars were the only thing out to play. His own room was in a convenient location, the moonlight pouring in as his dulled sapphire gaze searched the sky for answers. As if he would look hard enough and find familiar faces, familiar voices to talk to him. But it transcended beyond simple reasons of missing those said faces. He could truly use their advice. What would Zack do when faced with something like this? Why didn't Cloud feel as bad as he should have for getting comfortable here? Resting his elbow on the window sill, his chin resting in his palm, one would think that he looked bored as he stared out. But that couldn't be any farther from the truth. He was...thoughtful. A sigh, trapped somewhere between dreams and realization, slipped past his lips as a constellation caught his eye. Nothing special, just something to see...

"You don't have to say anything at all, Mister Cloud." Was there ( ... )
