so this morning at 8:30 my dad was admitted to the emergency room at melrose wakefield hospital. they want to keep him overnight so he can be hooked up to an IV. i guess deep down part of me knows he'll be ok. but the better part of me is really worried. thats my dad in there. i want him to be ok

I don't know what happened with your dad, but it's a safe assumption that if they just want to keep him hooked up to an IV, that's a good thing. He'll be on whatever medication he needs for the right amount of time, and it'll give him time to rest. Sometimes sending people home right away can be a bad thing cause it makes them think they are completely fine and can do anything they could do before they got sick. If they are just resting in the hospital it reminds them that they need to take it easy.

I hope he is ok, as well as your friend.
