duuuude, that velvet paper was totally poop for drawing/painting over. It was too soft for pencils, and absorbs water reaaally quckly which makes even washes reaally impossible. I ended up painting the 3d figure, then just cutting him out and sticking him to some bristol board after my failed attempts at washes in the background. The final product turned out pretty sweet though with the slight collage.
