New car!

Just came back from the Honda dealership. I haggled the fuck out of this guy and got him down to a much more affordable price -- he took the trade in for twice as much as Nissan would, and I'm loving this car. This weekend I should have it and I can't wait.

The best advice I can offer you is to tell them that some other car company gave you a better price than what they're offering. That's pretty much what I did.

He would pretty much say "I can get you to pay X dollars a month."

and I would say "Well, I just came back from the Nissan dealership, and they were offering me X-$50 a month. Plus with the GPS on their car, I get a back-up camera standard with the nav package" <-- which was true except for the X-$50 part

then he "went back to speak to his boss" twice, and eventually came back and offered a really good and competitive offer but I had to take it today, which was crap but it was still a great offer. I didn't show any emotion towards anything he threw at me and I basically made it sound like honda wasn't going to beat nissan's price but I was letting him try anyway. Eventually he did beat nissan's price and I went to go double check to make sure I liked the car, and I just went back and accepted his offer. I was very proud of myself for how much I got him down from.

I think its funny when they "speak to the boss" -- Especially when they say that crap to me over the phone. I can just SEE them twiddlng their thumbs.
