He is, however, definitely more serious. At any given point in time, he can be found eating, training in the gym, running a simulation with Lagann, or just leaning against the railing

Probably not as much as some of the other people around here. I just know that if Shinji's still there, trapped somewhere in that beast...he'll find a way to break out.

[Simon leans against the wall. He decides to wait for her to finish or at least take a break before he sits down.]

*Rei finishes her simulation, starts to get up, and stops upon noticing Shinji's mentor. There's a pause for a moment as she tries to think of something to say regarding what she knows they've both had on their minds.*
