It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining brightly, a gentle breeze blew across the beach, and there was not a cloud in the sky. It was the perfect day for a wedding.

Simon stood out by the entrance to the gazebo, near where the minister was standing. He was wearing both a white tuxedo and the biggest smile he's ever shown in his life. He had been looking forward to this day for so long, and it had finally arrived. He couldn't ask for a better time or place for this.

[[OoC: This thread isn't just for Simon and Nia! Feel free to whisper amongst yourselves about the weather, the venue, the bride's dress -- whatever would catch your characters' attention.]]

Nia is nervous but happy as she waits for the ceremony to start. She'd waited for this day for so long; since she'd first met Simon she'd felt drawn to him and wanted to be with him, even before she'd understood marriage or romance. And now, after all that horror had passed, she was here ready to join him.

As the music started to play, she began to walk down the aisle towards Simon, her cheeks pink with happiness.

Simon kept his cool, but he was every bit as nervous as the bride -- especially when she came into view. Simon had never seen Nia looking more beautiful than she did in her wedding gown. He was able to maintain the smile on his face and the confident look in his eyes, and fought off the urge to either lose his cool or act like an idiot out of pure happiness.

When Nia was within speaking range, Simon spoke so that only she could hear. "You look amazing in that dress, Nia."

*Axel's watching it somewhat off in the distance, enjoying the sights and glad someone's managed to be reunited with their love.*

Of course... the odds of that ever being Lemon and me...

Wedding Reception spiral_hero November 15 2010, 19:43:33 UTC
The banquet hall was the largest, most exquisite one in town. Numerous tables had been set around the edges of a dance floor, and there was a bar in the corner for anyone who had both a craving for alcohol and money to spend on it.

Each table seats eight, is covered with a white tablecloth, and has baskets of bread and pitchers of water already there. Each seat also has a name next to it, indicating where each guest is to sit. There's also a menu, though it only has three entrees; prime rib, crab-stuffed flounder, and a vegetable dish. For those who want other food, a series of tables is lined up against the wall, holding a salad bowl, fruit, cheese and crackers, and pasta.

The wedding party's table is up at the other end of the hall. During mealtime, Simon can be found sitting there, eating his meal. Afterwards, though, he will be walking around the room, mingling.

*And as you'd expect, Ennil's the one running the bar. Most of what's available is free, though specialty drinks are still being charged half price.*

So how's it feel to finally be able to tie the knot?

*She's looking very happy amidst it all, soaking in the atmosphere and at the same time dwelling on the nostalgia of a brief time when she was simply a young girl with a fiancee. Good times. Tragically cut short, but still meaningful memories she'd never cast away.*

Duo was about to walk past the bar, but a random impulse made him stop. Despite having spent most of the last 3 years living with soldiers, he had never actually tried more than a sip or two of alcohol before. Not the type to do things by halves, he approached the bar confidently.

"I think it's time to see what the big deal is with this stuff. What do you recommend for someone who hasn't really drunk much before?"

Well... for you?

*Ennil smiles, getting out a bottle of seltzer and another of water*

Let's start with something on the more basic side. How does a White Wine Spritzer sound?
