So you somewhat enjoy studying? Well, I could see how that is fun for people! I actually do enjoy the books and papers they give us to read.

What they teach here is way easier than what I used to study at home, so it's not really that I enjoy it, but it's just not worth putting in the energy to complain.

The stuff they give us is a little difficult. You must be very smart! What kinds of things did you study at home?

[ While he has knowledge in his head, he doesn't have the memories of how he learned that. But given the sort of work he was given to complete over summer vacation, he can guess that he wasn't such a great student. Why else would he be intimately familiar with terms such as "extra study time" and "detention"? ]

[ Scratching his head. ] I didn't do so hot back home, actually. It just has to do with the fact that our education in Academy City is leagues ahead of what is being taught here.

That's one way to look at it. On the other hand, it means I'm not busy and can react whenever something happens without needing to drop anything. There's no conflict that way. [ But no, in all honesty, he just lives a dull life here, without any knowledge of hobbies he might have had at home short of reading comics. ]
