(( Phone // (Afternoon) // Unfiltered ))

Why is there a tree in the living room? It is very pretty, but I do not understand.

Does this have something to do with Christmas? There are no candles on it, so I do not think it has anything to do with Hanukkah... [[a pause.]] Oh! That reminds me, I learned about the fat man in the red suit! I hope you all ( Read more... )

Have you never seen such things before, Nia? -Not far behind her is a well bundled Dizzy.-

Well, no. Where I am from, we do not do these things. Wonderful holidays and celebrations, we do not have any.

These are all new things to me!

I see! Has anyone explained this holiday to you, yet?

Is there more to explain besides the fat Communist?

Y-yes, the tree is part of Christmas.. it's a Christmas tree, you see?

[ ... ] And.. What I want from Santa Claus, huh.. W-well, I'd like to see Koyomi onii-chan again, or maybe I'd like for Christmas here to be really normal..

But what does a pretty tree have to do with that man? Santa Claus, is that his name? I do not understand...

Koyomi? Someone from home? And I would like for us to have a little bit more normal time as well! I like it better when there are not bad things trying to hurt us.

No, it's not something that has anything to do with Santa Claus.. um, actually, I-I don't really know why there's a tree involved either, but it's pretty, right?

Hmm, Koyomi onii-chan is someone I know very well from home, but he left here a while ago. And.. ah, maybe they'll be nice for us f-for Christmas.. since it's Christmas and all..

How strange! But, yes, it is very pretty.

I hope they are nice to us as well! I do not know why Christmas is special, but there is a different... feeling in the air, now.

If the "fat man" even comes to this shitty town, I bet he ain't gonna be jolly and kind.

spiraldoll December 15 2011, 02:15:30 UTC
Why do you say that? Anyone who gives nice gifts will surely be a nice person as well!

Even if this town does mean things, that does not mean that good people can not come to it.

What if he hasn't got any "nice gifts", huh?

All gifts are nice, though!

It does not matter what it is, as long as there are good intentions! He is rewarding me for being nice, I do not care what the gift is!

Do you really believe someone is going to visit and give you gifts?

Reply

spiraldoll December 15 2011, 02:29:14 UTC
Well, yes! That is what I was told.

I highly doubt that it's true. You shouldn't believe such things so easily.

Why do you doubt that? It makes sense to me! He likes us, so he gives us gifts!

I'm sorry, what are Christmas and Hanukkah? Do they have to do with fat men in red suits?

Reply

spiraldoll December 15 2011, 02:32:45 UTC
I do not know much about Christmas, but Hanukkah is a festival of lights! Because... people were sent into hiding, and they wanted to read, but they did not have enough candles, but one candle lasted eight days more than they expected it to! That is very amazing! So, now, people celebrate it!

[[she's leaving out a few crucial details, but she... kind of has the right idea. sort of.]] All I know about Christmas is that a fat Communist in a red suit comes and gives you gifts if you are not a bad person. But, still, that seems like a very fun holiday!
