Recently, there's less chance of my website serving a file, a picture, or a page. It's more busy at the moment than the server can handle.

Spiralingmoon.com/paintings appeared on Coolpick.com, part of the reason for an overload of over 7,500 visitors in one day last weekend. The site is throttled now ( Read more... )

I'm Emily, and my e-mail is e_keeler@hotmail.com

I just wanted to drop you a line or two about your art work. Visually, I must say you have deliciously deft hand for beauty. And as far as your medium goes I must say I am impressed. 'Mensies' have been ignored completely, and avoided in this culture. It makes perfect sense to me that someone has finally decided to show us that even the "grossest of the gross" can be turned into something beautiful. Keep up the good work.

Thanks! I hope when you do give it a try, that you'll post something on blood_art to share.

Vanessa!! Yer advertising me? I'm that cool??

*bowing down*

I better move the blood art over to my real server at buggeroff.org so it can handle the bandwidth. I'll get on that today and post a new hURL.

You bet cha. You're great. I just can't think of you without a big happy grin across my face.

You look so gorgeous on your website.

Your new paintings are terrific. I love "Ugly Girl" no matter what you say. It's brilliant to me.

okay... I'm just wondering, how does this work exactly?
I mean I realize you use your menstural blood, but do you just save it by using the "instead" thingies?
And doesn't it smell?

I use The Keeper menstrual cup, which I highly recommend. Read about it on the Keeper website and the Keeper LJ community.

There is absolutely no smell if blood is refridgerated and kept cooler than room temperture. If you can't paint right away, store it in a capped glass jar, put it in a paper bag and refrigerate it until time to use. You will see there is no odor at all. Acrylic has strong odor and that is the smell I have to contend with, as well as the smell of gessoed masonite boards.

Simple. Try it. You might like it.
