Dear Friends,

Thank you all for your wonderful compliments to my first painting from the Transposition series -- branching out into new media while remembering the old.

Tranposition #2 painted on 18" x 24" gessoed masonite with acrlyic gloss medium, gouache, and menstrual blood.

I'm sorry, but no. Thanks though for asking and for your interest in the painting.

it's really interesting to see your work develop. i remember quite a while ago when someone pointed out your work to me, and i was quite in awe then. i really like the way you have started to mix mediums, and the photographs of your work are art in and of themselves. amazing. (as a note, i just wanted to say that i love the feathery strokes that you use ... Dragonrose, Windfall, Far From the Tonic are some of my favorite works of yours ( ... )

Thanks for your really sweet comment and sharing your favorite paintings with me.

The gessoed masonite boards are produced by "Mona Lisa Products" and can be found on www.houstonart.com or (800) 272 3804. I recommend the primed and ready ultra smooth boards. They range in price according to the different sizes. Some specialty art supply stores can order them for you.

I use Winsor & Newton's Acrylic Gloss Medium. Any art supply store should carry it.

Actually these remind me of...paper towels. The quilted ones. With the patterns and the splotches. Don't know why but that's the association I got.

Interesting comparison to quilted paper towel patterns and textures. Thanks for pointing that out.
